Nazim's legal team had appealed to terminate the arrest and
the remand period set by the Criminal Court. The hearing of the case
was only open to the family members of the former Minister, state
personnel and the legal team.
Speaking to the press after the hearings concluded, Nazim's attorney,
Maumoon Hameed said that the hearing was concluded when the judges bench
had announced so. However, a second hearing may be scheduled if the
judges bench wish to clarify further details during their investigation.
The court's verdict would be issued in the next hearing, however the hearing had not been scheduled as of yet.
Maumoon said that he was happy how the hearing had progressed while
noting that the judges bench had given them the opportunity to present
their case fully.
Nazim, who is currently under Police custody was presented in court at
1:45 p.m. today, and the hearing was scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
